Basic Website Costs

What do you need to set up an AdSense website? What are the basic components that every website needs? How much does it all cost?

The cost of setting up a website depends on the type of website you’re thinking of putting together. If you are planning on putting up a basic AdSense information site your need would be different from someone planning on creating a complex AdSense-stroke-affiliate site.

Someone who builds websites for pleasure can theoretically put up a site of any size. But a webmaster developing a good AdSense site needs to put together a reasonably large site with a number of added essential extras to fulfil the expectations of potential visitors. A webmaster building a quality AdSense site will need to have a webhosting package that has script enabled servers, a reasonably large web space, good bandwidth and possibly some web-building software… among other things.

But different sites have different needs and therefore different initial setup costs.

The costs of an average sized AdSense website

*Approximate Costs 2009–2010

Web hosting charges        ≈ $2.99 – $10.99 (Per Month)

Domain Name                   ≈ $5.99 – $9.99 (Per Year)

––– Optional Extras –––

Web Editing Software

Microsoft Expression Web 3.0       ≈$150.00

Adobe Dreamweaver CS5             ≈$380.00

Adobe Photoshop Elements          ≈$75.00

So how much does it all cost?

Excluding any extras the costs of setting up a basic site for year on a decent web hosting package is approximately a $100.00. Not much overheads considering the amount of money you could make out of a good AdSense website.

Of course if you are really serious about setting up a quality AdSense website you might need to buy the optional extras which will increase your costs to about $250.00 which is still quite a small amount considering the possible returns you could have from a money generating AdSense site.

What you get out of your AdSense website all depends on the amount of time you put into it and to a smaller degree how much you invest in it. The initial pain of setting up a website and marketing it, can quickly turn to pleasure depending on your technical skill, your determination and your passion.
