AdSense and Search-Engine-Optimization

Optimizing AdSense Content Material

This is the complex part of the proceedings. Keyword distribution within the body copy of your pages is of importance to search engines, but no one knows quiet, how much.

So in order to make sure you’re not missing out it is prudent to make sure that specific keywords, general keywords and a range of synonyms are distributed liberally over your AdSense site.

Be careful of the amount of AdSense keywords you use

Keyword density is of importance, so use page specific keywords slightly more than you would in a normal body of text.
However, don’t overdo it. You are still in the business of least attempting to write entertaining, if not informative content for people to use. The overuse of keywords, at the detriment of useful information is nothing more than spam for the search engines.

Keyword placement is necessary

If want to optimize your site as thoroughly as possible then use your keywords more frequently at the beginning and at the end of each article with a little less in the middle.

Keep your content material focused. The more focused your AdSense pages are the more effective and relevant they will be for your users. Also you are less likely to dilute the effectiveness of your page specific keywords and the better they’ll do with the search engines.

Use character highlighting tags like <strong> or <em> to pick out keywords on a page. But use this feature wisely. Using these tags helps both visitors and search engines recognize your important text.

Internal Links in AdSense sites

Internal navigation links should be labeled precisely and should be descriptive. If possible use real text to put together your navigation elements rather than images. Search engines use your links as well as visitors but unlike humans, search engines can’t read images. So try and keep your internal links simple and text based.

File name, domain names and URL’s

File names, domain names and URL’s are all significant on-page ranking criteria for search engines and as such they all need to be optimized.

Specific keywords are essential components of the names given to the various pages of your site. For example (using the comics theme):

Domain name is the name of the site:
digital-comics.com

The URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is the web address for example:
http://www.digital-comics/index.html

Filename is the name of the actual page in question which, from the above example is index.html. But it could potentially be any name from comic_writers.html to comic_art.html. It is the section at the end of a URL that specifies the content of a page. It should be as concise, yet as descriptive as possible.

The page title is the name shown at the top edge of a browser. It is often the same as the file name without the .html extension.

And to conclude?

In combination on-page optimization techniques can boost your search engine rankings. But the process can be tedious at times and it can be difficult to apply in conjunction with writing quality AdSense content.

But the pay-off is worth it.

Remember to go through each page of your site individually, placing page specific keywords in your HTML meta tags. Also, look through your page titles, making sure that the right keywords are used for each page of your site.

And also make sure that your pages have appropriate file names and URL's.

Placing your keywords at the right locations can be the difference between failure and success. So be diligent in their use and don't try and cut corners.
