Researching demand for AdSense niche topics
The process of researching the demand for niche topics can be broken down to a number of simple steps. Firstly, we are going to use Google’s AdWords keyword search-based tool to compile a list of keywords then we're going to use both keyword tools to fill in the first two columns of the table.
The process is as follows:
- Enter ‘health’ into Google’s keyword search tool and press search.
- On the middle-left hand side of the page change the match type from 'Broad' match, to results showing 'Exact' match. This will then give us figures that coincide with those of WordTrackers.
- Ignoring the term health itself (too large to base a site on) put other health related terms into your spreadsheet that you think can work as plausible AdSense themes. Make sure you pick topics that have more than 1000-2000 queries a month.
- Put the values for the approximate average search volume into the demand category of your spreadsheet (this value is the average monthly number of searches).
- Repeat the same process for the keywords 'fitness' and 'exercise' and then use WordTracker's free keyword tool to fill in the second column.
After going through various processes of elimination we finally settled on the following table of keywords:

You could compile a spreadsheet of this sort for any topic that takes your fancy, from flowers and cakes to cars and rockets.
From the above we can see that there are number of popular searches related to the word ‘health and fitness’. So we have established that the demand is there what about competition? Is the demand been satisfied with supply?
